Swimm's Derma Therm Log To Date

Hey folks,

I am one of the case studies / test subjects for DermaTherm, and have been posting on the meso board for the past couple weeks. Rather than starting from scratch, I will copy and paste my meso posts on here for any who are interested. Please feel free to ask questions, challenge my thoughts, etc. My experiences to date with DermaTherm have been amazingly positive, and I am glad to share any information I can with the group.

Thanks

Swimm

Hey Pp,

Got the test product last night (Monday), going to start this evening following workout. I will jump in with daily log, stats, results, etc.

As a precursor, I had medical stats done this morning:

BP 130/80 (although a bit high, fairly normal for me due to a medication I take that raises bp)

Temp: 99.0 (normal for me)

Blood work done this morning, test results should be back tomorrow, and I will post any irregularities. Full range of tests from CBC to SedRate to B27 to ... you get the picture

I will also get physical stats this evening as a baseline.

Day 1:

Applied DermaTherm via pump ~5pm ... had an initial 'mustard' like coloring and odor. I applied quickly to my legs, stomach, arms, chest, and back. Immediately, my chest (starting at pec level) began to burn and turned red. Luckily, I was back to normal within 60 seconds, although with a red upper chest. After 30 seconds, I was primed to jump into a cold shower to remove the product, but the burning quickly died down. I have decided that my skin on my chest at or above pec-level is too irritable for use of application. Everywhere else felt fine. In fact, once the product was applied, the odor turned into a very pleasant 'cinnamon-y' type fragrance. Throughout the evening, I felt a little warmer than normal, and everything went well. Oh, stats: starting at 162 lbs, 9.4% bodyfat (per an inaccurate Tanita scale, but hopefully the scale will show good relative comparisons of bodyfat over the next four weeks). I still need to get pictures, and will do so as soon as I get the opportunity.

Day 2:

Ran 3 miles, plus Max OT lifting this morning. Following a shower, I applied the dermatherm to legs, arms, back, and stomach, bypassing upper chest. This time no issues with the application ... definitely some 'hot spots' and a warm feeling for a minute or two, but overall very pleasant, and again with a pleasant cinnamon fragrance. I checked with the hospital, and my bloodwork lab results are not back yet -- I will update as soon as I receive the results.

So far, after two applications, I am very pleased with the product (especially once I learned to avoid my upper chest).

Day 3: no problem with application at all, now that I know to avoid upper chest.

Product definitely provides a heat boost over the first hour or so, after that I hardly notice it. I felt a bit lethargic last evening, but I think my plan to take an ECA stack along with the DermaTherm will help in two ways: reduce lethargy and help suppress appetite.

Bloodwork all came back at normal levels, nothing extraordinary at all.

(Weight this morning - no change -- perhaps water retention? -- I definitely feel like I am on the right track for cutting)

RE: Swimm's Derma Therm Log To Date

Day 4:

Application becoming easier and easier as I gain a better understanding of areas to avoid (i.e. upper chest and elbow areas). Last night, I certainly downed the water ... I probably had a gallon with dinner last night. However, it can be partly attributed to the 85 degree weather here and no air-conditioning at the time.

Everything going smoothly. This morning the Tanita scale read 160 / 8.7%bf (for relative purposes only).

Day 5: application with no problem. Since rubbing the product in better, I don't have the fluorescent yellow dripping off of me in the shower, either

About 88 degrees here this weekend, but the Derma Therm has not been a problem ... much less sides than even low dose dnp.

Day 6: Man, this stuff gets easier and easier with each passing day. I am beginning to miss the cinnamon smell after an evening shower. Compared to dnp, much, much better. Yesterday, mowed the yard with my toddler on my back (backpack). Washed two cars, trimmed trees, got groceries, made dinner, helped with newborn, etc. I actually have 10x as much energy as with dnp. My biggest learning so far is to use appetite suppressant.

Taking the wife and kiddos swimming around noon today, and will grill some turkey burgers. Made some shortcake and cut strawberries for dessert for family tonight, and will carve up a watermelon for some fun (ever watch a two year old eat watermelon)?

We'll see how the swimming goes with the dermatherm. As a national level swimmer, I am very used to water ... should be interesting to see if there is any interaction between the clorination water that cleans out pores and sensitizes skin, combined with dermatherm ... I will keep you all posted. Everything going well with test so far.

Day 7 already?

Wow, this stuff is so much easier to use than other fat-burning products. I week down, and I am amazed to type in the number 7 above. No problems with use after swimming in a chlorinated pool, even after getting a modest sunburn this weekend. Getting back into the routine of morning lifting, cardio, followed by shower and DermaTherm application. Now that I know where my skin is more sensitive, application is a breeze. My weight is still constant, but I have been drinking tons of water with the increased temperatures here ... I am confident I have lost a couple lbs since the start, although my water intake is hiding this fact from the scale

Only one week in, and I am falling in love with this product. I actually really like the cinnamon aroma (does that make me an automatic woose? Damn, I hope not ...) Then again, my wife (sports med doctor) is already running 3-4 miles, while our newest family member just turned 3 weeks old. Yep ... I know who the strong one is in my marriage ... and it ain't me.

Really, though, this product seems to be a strong offering. I need to remain patient to see the fat-burning impact, but as far as dealing with sides, application, etc ... it is a snap. Can't wait to keep up with the final results.

Thanks Pp, for allowing me to be a part of the testing procedure. I have nothing to gain, personally, from being a product advocate, but I am an advocate nonetheless (provided the final results fall in where I believe they will).

RE: Swimm's Derma Therm Log To Date

5/30

Got on the scale this morning for kicks, down about 2.5 lbs from the start of the dermatherm test (this is about day 8/9). So far clean eating has been the standard, with about 3 mile runs 5 days a week plus Max OT lifting 5 days a week ... then household chores on the weekends (push-mowing acre lawn, trimming trees, washing cars, carrying kids throughout grocery store, etc.). Not true cardio on the weekends, but definitely harder than the morning runs!

Dermatherm has become routine ... no issues in application at all anymore, and I experience very little / no side-effects. I will continue to update ...

*******

Had a few extra minutes, and thought I would post a few comments for dennis and Pp to challenge.

First, application of DermaTherm is easy. Using the lotion pump is a must to avoid product waste and get fairly even coverage. However, don't spill any on a rug! It definitely gets absorbed quickly. Once applied, there is a warm feeling for a couple minutes, which then subsides over 15-30 minutes. The application is not at all greasy, sweaty, or even a lotion-like feeling ... it seems to generally be absorbed to the point where you don't notice it at all after an hour. Further, I often wear white dress shirts with collars, and have not noticed any staining effect or transpiration.

Second, the first couple days my sleep has been poor. However, I am not necessarily a good benchmark, so I look for comments from dennis and Pp. With a newborn in the house, my routines are way off of normal, so sleep disturbances could simply be due to strange waking and sleeping hours right now.

Third, the first couple days I felt that I was losing ground in the fat-loss department, but I now believe it to be more of a water retention build issue. After a week, I am down about 2.5 lbs, and I can feel a slightly more "thin" feel to my skin thickness, specifically around my abdomen. Further, my 31" waist pants seems to have grown a little bit of extra space in them, requiring a one-notch tightening in my belt!

So far, no one has even noticed the cinnamon smell at all. I can notice it for about 15 minutes, and then it subsides. However, it seems unnoticeable to others.

Finally, the first couple days, urine turned a dark color, even with my consumption of well over 1 gallon of water per day. It has returned to normal over the past few days, another plus. I have a slight bit of lethargy and increased hunger, but an ECA stack seems to help with both challenges. I remain on ~2000-2200 calories per day, mostly clean, pushing for minimum 35% protein.

Please don't hesitate to ask questions of Dennis or I (or Pp, for that matter).

Good workout this morning. Even after doing heavy squats and calves yesterday, had a good run this morning, along with Max OT arms. DermaTherm application now has the "flushed skin" reaction for less than 5 minutes, and the routine is falling into place.

Since I had little else new to report, I figured I might post a bit about my dieting procedure. in general, I follow something similar to yesterday's food intakes:

6am - water and a piece of fruit

6:30-7:45 lifting and cardio

8:00 - 100 calorie protein shake

8:00 - 12:00 ~3/4 gallon water

12:00 - small turkey on wheat bread sandwich (no mayo, of course!)

12:00 - 6:00 ~3/4 gallon water

7:00 - dinner = baked or grilled chicken breast, cup of brown rice, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, carrots ... a slice or two of bread or a couple dinner rolls ... lots of water, and umpteen carrot sticks

7:00 - 9:00 -- to be honest, I often find myself grabbing a quick snack before bed by stealing a couple girl scout cookies (those thin mints are dangerous), a chocolate chip cookie, or a quaker oats snack bar ... but overall the snack is limited to 150 calories max.

In addition, 1-2 glasses of water throughout the 9pm - 5am night

Sorry for the delay, but I finally figured out how to get my pics off of the digital camera. I apologize for the poor quality, as I am still trying to figure out the damn electronics.

... and, before everybody rips me to shreds for being small, please remember that I have substantial nerve damage due to a couple of accidents that highly limit my ability to activate muscles ... my physical presence, while certainly unintimidating compared to all of you "beasts," is the result of many years of hard work for me to max out the nerves that I have remaining that are actively attached to muscle reflexes. I am glad to explain more if there are questions, but I believe I posted a history about this a month or two ago when someone asked me why I struggled to gain additional muscle mass. Anyway, I greatly appreciate all comments ... especially related to ideas for focus and improvements. My gains are highly limited, but I will take all the advice I can get.

Hopefully this provides a good starting point / baseline for Pp's DermaTherm product test, and I will update the pictures with after-shots following cycle completion.

Yeah, I have noticed a 'build-up' to a slightly yellow taint, most noticeable on my hands. Since people have to put on sunglasses when I take my shirt off at the pool anyway, the 'jaundice' look actually makes me look a little bit healthier Guess that happens when you are stuck indoors with a newborn for a few weeks.

Good workout this morning ... 5k run plus Max OT weights for triceps, lats, traps, and abs. I have been going on 3-4 hours sleep per night this week, so am greatly looking forward to this weekend when I have family coming in to help with the baby, hopefully allowing me to get a bit more sleep ... I am sure that will help me re-energize too.

Continuing to eat clean ... although I drank at least a gallon of water last night between 6 and 8 pm. Wasn't really feeling dehydrated, but the cool water just felt 'right' at the time. I am sure it won't help my weight on the scale over the next 36 hours or so, and so I am avoiding the scale until next week when I stabilize again.

Have a great weekend.

Hey Pp,

Forgive me if my message came across with the wrong tone -- the yellowish color has been absolutely no issue at all. If anything, it actually is a good thing for me right now, as I have been indoors most of the past 3-4 weeks with the newborn. When the coloring starts to become a bit more noticeable, then I will start using the specific soaps you mentioned, but for now it is actually making me look a slight bit more tan ... an added bonus.

I received the DermaTherm product for the second half of this test run ... thank you. As others have said, the professionalism with which you package and market your product is impressive. I have no doubt that this will be a winning product for you and your customers. I will continue to post updates on my experiences, and again, please feel free to ask any questions (Pp and any others!).

Have a good weekend

RE: Swimm's Derma Therm Log To Date

Saturday 6/2:

Family came down to visit, and my diet went all to hell when the homemade chocolate chip cookies were passed around, and I was awake due to caffeine only. Oh well. Was able to get a two hour nap later that afternoon, and grilled a very heathy dinner with fresh veggies, grilled chicken breasts, and rabbit food, so perhaps I was making up for my poor afternoon snacking. Also, was able to get a full night's sleep last night for the first time in weeks -- it was amazing to see the rebound effect this morning.

Sunday 6/2:

In the office early to catch up, which also helps me to regulate diet since there are no opportunities to snack on carrot sticks, crackers, or much of anything other than bottled water. Application of DermoTherm continues to get easier and easier, and the skin flush is now almost non-existent. As Pp mentioned, different types of soap "melt" the yellow-tint of DermaTherm right off (Dial is an easy example).

Back to the stack of paperwork. Have a good weekend.

Monday 6/4

Back to the salt-mines. Great workout this morning, even if SportsCenter sucked wind with all their personal stories rather than highlights. Lifting chest and working abs this morning, then a 3 mile run. Application of DT following shower, then to the office. Got a couple softball games this evening, so we'll see how that goes ... anychance that DermaTherm can raise my batting or fielding average?

Tues 6/5/07

Great morning workout ... even with 5x5 adjustment while doing legs (squats, calfs, biceps, forearms) followed by 3 miles cardio work, morning workout went better than it has in a number of weeks. this following a late night softball game last evening and getting up in the wee hours of the morning to take care of baby. Felt great to get out of the shower, take my time, apply DermaTherm, and head to the office relaxed. Rough night of sleep last night due to activities and baby, but hopefully the rest of the week will moderate some. Everything continues to go well ... I am looking forward to checking the scale again in a few days.

Arrgggh ... I am tired. Up most of the night with the pip-squeak (4 week old baby). Workout this morning sucked badly. Got in my lifts, but struggled with weights and cardio was a joke. Finished 3 miles jogging, but in 1/2 mile spurts separated by stretching. Sometimes my own 'woosiness' amazes even me.

Anyway, DermaTherm continues to go well. I jumped on the scale early this morning, and while still premature, scale shows a loss of 4 lbs since the start. I will do the real weigh-in once I am finished with the cycle, and by taking an average of my first 4-10 days post DermaTherm usage.

Lots of meetings today, with an executive session lunch ( where I have a pre-ordered salad, so am forced to stay on diet) plus an evening executive planning session dinner at a steak-house ... where again, by ordering a steak and salad, I can easily avoid the high carbs. So overall, I am pretty forced to stay on clean eating today, which is a good thing considering how tired I am.

Have a great day.

Wow -- that steak I had for dinner last night was amazing! With a steak, a nice salad, and a michelob ultra, I was a happy camper. Got home late last night, but very happy!

Had to get up early this morning for travel, so I had to skip my morning workouts today, and likely with little chance to workout this evening. Anyway, a day off is probably a good thing.

Looking at skipping the business dinner tonight to go spend some time at home with spouse and help with kiddoes tonight. DermaTherm application remains easy and comfortable. My first bottle is nearly out, so I am expecting to break into bottle number 2 tomorrow morning. It will be interesting to see how my last application from bottle number 1 compares to first application from bottle number 2.

6/9 - 6/11

Saturday 6/9:

Started second bottle of DermaTherm ... smooth transition as i did not notice any differences from the first bottle regarding application, sensations, etc.

Sunday 6/10:

Normal application. Then spent the morning in the sun with my toddler at the park, then a portion of the afternoon in the sun on a softball field ... have a slight red-tinge (more than normal) to my skin. Perhaps the DermaTherm does make on slightly more prone to tanning, solar effects?

All in all, product continues to go well. Was able to eat really well over the weekend, and even though I did not have cardio / weight sessions, I pushmowed on Saturday (1 hr) and had softball practice Sunday (90 minutes) -- easily comparable to a normal 30 minute cardio session.

Monday 6/11:

Good 3 mile cardio session and Max OT weights ... back at the office for another week.

Continuing with the DermaTherm product, and I can start to see noticeable tightening of my skin, and especially some visible veins in my legs. While sleep has been highly limited this week, I continue to get in good weight workouts in the mornings, followed by a minimum 3 mile jog every day, and I continue to eat pretty well, too. I am excited to see what the final results will be like. This weekend will be difficult to keep up the activity levels and strong eating habits, but my goal is to at least break even on calorie expenditure vs. deficity, and then hope to make up some ground next week as I am traveling all week for business. Unlike many, perhaps, traveling provides me even better discipline in eating since I am not tempted by all the snacks that line the pantry for my wife and toddler.

Have a great weekend.

Derma Therm going strong. Just got out of doctors office, and official weight came in (while fully dressed) at a current loss of ~7 lbs (prior to adjusting for the weight of clothes). Man, I am psyched! Going on business trip this afternoon through Thursday, so likely no posts for a few days. All continues to go extremely well.

I am using an ECA stack daily. No clen so far, although I plan to start clen on Monday for the following two week closing period (gonna finish strong!)

Man, I am excited. Got home from my business trip last night and stepped on the tanita scale. Total weight loss is a drop of 8 lbs and the tanita scale (inaccurate, I know) measured its lowest bodyfat ever for me, 6.9%.

Generally, I weigh myself every morning when I awake so that I am consistent, and so I did the same this morning to get better confirmation vs. relative stats previously. Down 8 lbs with bodyfat at 7.6%. Still, this is (based on relative measurements using the scale) a great result from the cutting cycle so far, and I still have a
